Kenny Bunch has been a master plumber in Wylie since 1999, working out of a shop on Stone Road and covering homes across Collin, Rockwall, Dallas and Hunt counties. His WordPress site had served him for years, and like most sites that age it had picked up the usual problems along the way: speed, security, listing details that had drifted apart, and pages that needed more than a fresh coat of paint.
We audited it in September 2026, he signed off on the move in writing on October 1st, and the new site went live on October 20th, with every old address still working and the pages already earning search impressions kept exactly where Google expected them.

How the research was done#
- Search Console first. We read 16 months of his own search data to find which pages already earned impressions and clicks, so the move would protect them first.
- A full site and listing audit covering speed, security headers, search markup, and his Google Business Profile against his own records.
- Keyword data for the services he actually wants to sell across all 18 towns he serves, from Google Ads search volume and cost-per-click data.
- Competitors. The 12 plumbers he competes with in the local map results, read for reviews, categories and the services they lead with.
- Town facts. Each town page is built from sourced facts: drive distance from the shop, the age of the housing stock from Census data, the water supplier and the permit office.
What we built and changed#
- The move, at URL parity. 52 old URLs checked: 0 missing, 41 redirected permanently. 34 pages compared for title, description and headings: 0 failures.
- Google Business Profile. His profile details checked against his own records and corrected so the hours, phone and service area match everywhere.
- Consistent business details on the site. One footer, one phone format, one set of hours on every page, matched to his Business Profile, with the correct founding year.
- Service sections for drains, faucets and sinks, leak detection, sewer lines, toilets and water heaters, released in batches as Kenny reviews each one, with more in draft.
- Town pages rewritten from sourced local facts, with Wylie as “Our Home Town”.
- Structured data: Plumber, Service, Article and breadcrumb markup, 134 objects across 67 pages with 0 errors, and Search Console’s breadcrumb warning fixed.
- Security headers: all live, including a hash-based Content Security Policy and HSTS.
- Quality checks at launch: 2,656 links with 0 broken, 64 of 64 sitemap URLs returning 200, and all 211 images with set dimensions so nothing jumps while the page loads.
How it works#
Every page is plain HTML built by Hugo and served from Cloudflare. The phone number is a real tap-to-call link and the quote form works with JavaScript switched off. Form spam is stopped by Cloudflare Turnstile.
